THQ Rebranding Wrestling Franchise and Calling It WWE 12
THQ has just announced that they are rebranding their iconic SmackDown vs. Raw series and going with WWE ’12. They are also saying that this is going to be the best and most realistic Wrestling game ever, due to the all-new Predator Technology. The Predator Technology system is going to give the game the most fluid and realistic animation ever seen in a WWE video game and that doesn’t stop there. The system is also going to provide an improved A.I. and the “Breaking Point” submission system.
The game is also going to include an awesome creation suite with a wide range of tools, giving fans the ability to create their own Superstars, entrances, finishing moves, storylines and highlight reels. Because they didn’t want to stop there, WWE ’12 is going to give the fans the ability to also share and download each others creations allowing for endless gameplay.
“WWE 12 will also feature a bigger, badder and better WWE Universe mode, empowering players to determine the destiny of WWE’s Superstars and Divas with storylines, matches, alliances and rivalries that are shaped by their decisions. Additionally, a revamped Road to WrestleMania mode allows WWE Universe members to experience the action, drama, twists and turns as they choose their favorite Superstar and embark on an exciting journey to The Showcase of the Immortals.”
Seems like THQ is adding a ton of stuff to what used to be SmackDown vs. Raw and improving it greatly. I’m not a big wrestling fan, and haven’t followed the series very much but it sounds like this is going to be the Wrestling game to get. Look for more information during E3, and for a release in the Fall.
